The 25-minute biographical film presents aspects of his life and history, showing him as an important figure for São Carlos culture (cultura sancarlense) and for capoeira in the state of São Paulo. The documentary establishes central themes and proposes scenes that structure the audiovisual narrative, leaving space for Mestre Izael himself to guide part of the film, resulting in an intimate and sincere portrait.

Izael guided the training of Faísca? – 1991

Faísca sought mentorship from Mestre Izael Teixeira in São Carlos, SP, who accepted him. This was after founding his first group in Mococa and before meeting João Pequeno in 1991. Izael focused on Capoeira Regional de Mestre Bimba rather than Angola. When Izael opted to recover the Traditional Capoeira Regional, Faísca departed to continue his search for Capoeira Angola, eventually leading him to João Pequeno.
